May 3, 2013 - Alright, as I'm sure you've noticed by now we are back online. Media Kid Vids was attacked by some sort of virus. My attempts to get rid of it on my own were futile as it was apparently a self-replicating virus. I'm unsure as to how we were infected right now but we are taking precautions to try and prevent it in the future. Thanks to Quantum (Media Kid Vids PHP genius) for helping me get the site back to normal. Anyone who visited the site from around April 5th until May 1st is advised to do a complete virus scan on your computers. I sincerely apologize for anyone who may have been infected and any inconvenience it might have caused. I'm hoping that updates will resume this weekend. Thanks for your patients and your support.

Dec 21, 2012 - The last 3 days the site has been under attack. There was a single file targeted and was downloaded over 500,000 times using more than 1500 gigabytes of bandwidth. There is no reason this file should have been downloaded so many times. It was just a 30 second commercial. If attacks like this continue to happen it will shut the site down for good. If anyone has a solution to this, please speak up. There is a link to contact me at the bottom of each page.

Sep 1, 2012 - This is to let everyone know that there are going to be some small changes. I will be slowing down on adding commercials to the site in the near future. This is because I have shut off my cable TV so I can no longer record commercials as I see them air. If anyone wishes to send me commercials for the site I will be happy to set up an account for you to make that easier. I have about 30 or so commercials that I have recorded but have not yet converted. These will start to show up online in the next few days and should be done by next weekend. After that I will mostly focus on the TV series and movies that I have saved up on my hard drives. However, because of the extra time it takes to do TV shows and movies the updates you see will begin to be less frequent.

Thanks for your support over the past few years and I will try and keep this site interesting. However, at this point there will be no new features added. I wanted to get the Kid Musicians online and started but it never happened so I'm sorry for any who were looking forward to that. I also wanted to get a media player online so you didn't have to download the video to view it, but that didn't happen either. So as of right now, the way you see the site is the way it's going to set for a while, except for adding video clips as I have time and get them.

Aug 3, 2011 - Some of you may have noticed last week that the video clips were offline and inaccessible. This was due to the site using too many resources. It appears to be caused by too many people using download managers at once.

There are are a few solutions to prevent this from happening again.

1.) We can limit the amount of time each user/IP can click on a download link. Meaning that once you click on a download link, you would then not be able to download another file for maybe 30-60 seconds. This would hopefully prevent download managers from making several connections to the server to speed up their download.

2.) We can move to a dedicated server where we can then have complete control over how many connections a visitor can have and use as many of the resources as we want. However, this would cost us more than 25 times what we are currently paying for web hosting, which I'm not prepared or capable of paying for on my own. So that would mean we would need to start charging for the site, which I will not do. Or I can start asking for donations to help pay for the server. Another thing I will not do, because donations are not guaranteed, so I cannot take the chance of not being able to pay for the server.

3.) Visitors can disable their download managers while downloading videos from the site. It might take a little while longer to download the larger files like from talk shows, but it will help to keep the site alive and available for you and others to enjoy.

If the site continues to use too many resources and the video clips need to get disabled again, then we will implement solution one. Depending on how that goes will determine the future of the site.

So the updates will resume tonight and we'll see how things go. Please be considerate and disable your download managers so the site will remain fun and available for everyone.

Dec 16, 2010 - Cast members from one of the most-talked-about-films of 2010, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, will be celebrating the holiday season with their fans at several Best Buy locations across the country. Summit Entertainment and Best Buy are partnering to host in-store autograph signings, giving the perfect holiday gift a special touch for its recipient. The first 200 customers to line up at each event location can receive an autograph from the cast member in attendance, with the purchase of any The Twilight Saga: Eclipse DVD, Blu-ray or Combo Pack. Lines will open two hours prior to each event start time.

This is happening this weekend. Call the Best Buy stores in your area to see if you will be one of the lucky ones to meet a cast member. Jodelle Ferland and Dakota Fanning are among the cast who will be signing. There will likely be other former kid actors at various locations.

Oct 21, 2009 - You're now viewing the new site. Some pages are still being worked on and may come up as an Error. Please be patient with us while we put the finishing touches on the site. Most of the pages from the old site have been removed and will likely never return, however most of the content from the old site has been moved to the new site and will remain online till the day Media Kid Vids goes offline.
